  JW CHILDREN GET PRESENTS ALL THROUGH THE YEAR. REALLY?????

  is it really true that jw children get gifts 'all through the year', not just for christmas and birthdays like non- jw kids?

  as stingy as most jws are, i find that very hard to believe.

  plus the childhood magic of christmas and birthdays is totally absent in jw households.

  My parents wedding anniversary is in December and growing up we had a large celebration every year. I never felt I was missing anything.

  if anyone knows mouthy/grace gough, it would be awesome if someone would look in on her.

  she is feeling the effects of the ice storm and is all alone and it is christmas eve.

  The AWESOME CHRISTMAS TREE thread

  awesome is a loaded word.

  we may think it relates to something flashy and expensive and elaborate.

  or we may think of something else.. for those of us who are out or coming out, awake, or waking up, choosing to celebrate can be very symbolic of how far we have come.

  John Graeff CO recently left "the work"

  john graeff a co in north fla (1999-2002), northwest ga (2003-2006), northeast al (2007-2010), then houston tx just left the "traveling work", anyone know why?.

  he was a great teacher and fiercely loyal to the organisation.

  he taught my pioneer school and elders school.

  My daughter and I are packing meals for nohungerholiday.com the day before and hopefully serving at a soup kitchen on Xmas. Still making calls to find one. One of our new traditions for first time Xmas. Then, we'll watch holiday movies :)

  Sighhhhhhhh, the Draw Close to Jehovah book again for the Congregation Bible Study.

  check out this gem from the dec 2013 km which explains why it's good to over this book a second go round.. "congregations previously considered this book during 2004 and 2005. however,for many of the approximately two million publishers who have come into the truth since then,this will be the first time that jehovahs endearing qualities have been discussed in detail.for those who studied the book before, the review will help them to deepen their appreciation forjehovahs attributes.ps.119:14".

  i gotta kick out of this because i can only think of maybe two or three new ones in our congregation who weren't present when this book was first studied.

  at the same time, going over jehovah's qualities isn't something new.

  this weekend i had the most delicious chicken pie filled with white meat, a few veggies, gravy and the chicken pie had a hard crust, not puff pastry.
